Hi! I'm Leora. I am married to a fire captain (who is also the man of my dreams!), a mom to five grown kids, and a nana to five darling grandkids! I firmly believe in the importance of putting distractions away and sitting down together for family dinner, and doing so has been a tradition in our home ever since my husband and I got married 30 years ago. In fact, my children still come home often for family dinners, even though most are moved out of the house. My goal is to provide you with delicious recipes that you can share with your loved ones around the table. So, join my family for dinner, and pass your plates!
Who knew that baked donuts could taste so good! These have a “just crisp” exterior, with a tender inside. All the pumpkiny (is that a word?) flavor that evokes fall. The white chocolate pairs so we’ll with pumpkin, and the ginger cuts through the sweetness. Dig in!
A classic Mexican soup, made with onions, jalapenos, garlic, and tomatoes. Add earthy herbs, black beans, corn, and shredded chicken; and you have a hearty, warming meal. Top with shredded cheese, thinly sliced jalapenos, avocados, and sour cream……and dig in. Tortilla chips recommended.
The perfect pumpkin cookie. Lightly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, with melty chocolate chips. Full of pumpkin and spices that deliver on flavor. These have been a family favorite, and one of my most requested recipes for years!
t’s comfort food season! And this dish will up your chicken game. Tender, juicy roasted chicken; seasoned with a fajita blend and served with a Green Chile Sauce (I could eat this sauce with a spoon, it’s that good….). And since the chicken is spatchcocked, it is done under an hour!
The perfect recipe for cooler evenings……and our traditional Halloween night dinner. We love this chili so much, and the great part is, you probably have the ingredients in your pantry and fridge. Serve it with crunchy tortilla chips, or steaming cornbread. The leftovers are even better the next day!
I am welcoming fall with this Pumpkin Bread. Moist and tender, with just the right amount of spices. Topped with a sugar crust…..trust me……! And served warm with cinnamon honey butter that melts beautifully. Seconds please!!
Who loves Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza?? This PASTA may be a new fave of yours. Loaded with smokey bacon, tender rotisserie chicken, parmesan cheese, and a creamy ranch flavored sauce! Delicious!!
Spent the weekend in our beautiful mountains……which meant a hearty soup was needed. Clam Chowder is easy to make, and MY clam chowder is chock-full of clams. As it should be! Pair with a crisp salad and some crusty bread for an easy, but comforting meal. Oh, and did I mention that my son-in-law said …
This is the BEST, most flavorful gravy…. and you don’t need pan drippings! I call that a win! Roasted garlic and caramelized onions are the stars of this gravy. It will take your dish to the next level, guaranteed! My family has dubbed this the “best gravy they have ever had.” That’s something worth trying!
I had to post this, even though the picture isn’t that great… Because of the rave reviews! This dish layers corn tortillas, spicy meat sauce, creamy cheesy sauce, and shredded Mexican cheese. Bake until bubbly and starting to brown, and top with chopped scallions. Easy meal for weeknights or weekends!
